Nov 4--Santa Rosa, NM to Alamogordo, NM

Today was a travel day, with no major things of note.  The route was through and over some high hills/mountains.  The altimeter on my phone showed 6800 ft. at the highest point.  It was on this road that we met 3 semi trucks hauling blades for a wind generator.  I would think it would not be the easiest route for them!

We did see large numbers of a yucca plant that grows tall. I think it is Torrey's Yucca.  It was hard to get a good picture from the moving vehicle.

When we came down into Alamogordo, I was surprised to see what looked like large orchards.  When we got closer to town, I saw signs indicating that at least some of them were growing pistachios.  I didn't get any pictures, but it was interesting!
