Nov 1--Guymon, OK to Tucumcari, NM

We passed through 3 states today.  We started in Oklahoma, passed through the corner of Texas, and ended up in New Mexico.  The landscape changed a lot as the miles rolled on.

While still in Oklahoma, we saw cotton being harvested and more wind generators.

We crossed the border into Texas, and drove beside the biggest feedlot we have come across on this trip.  First there were some pens of cattle, then a huge grain handling setup, with lots of grain stored on the ground, then miles of pens with more cattle. (And yes, it did smell like a feedlot!)

The sign says "Dalhart Cattle Feeders" (Dalhart, TX)

Ted thinks these big mounds of grain covered with plastic and old tires are silage piles.

 Cattle and more cattle

Soon we were passing over the border into New Mexico, where we plan to search for Tipton, the place where Ted's grandfather lived for several years in the early 1900's.
